About Amitriptylin

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Pasadena, TX

Been a few days since I've been on. Been that kind of week. Want to give an update just don't have it in me right now. I do have a question about a new medicine, though. Does anyone have any thoughts about Amitriptylin? Has it helped you? And, since I haven't slept in a few days, does it help you sleep? And lastly, do you feel groggy the next day. Mine are 10 mg.

Thanks everyone. Blessings.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member yes it does make a big difference to my state of mind to have a good nights sleep and I can occasionally forget to take it and I still have a great nights sleep. Hugsxxx

Somatic Disorder Is It Real Or Are We Just Not Being Believed By Our Doctor's?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Detroit, MI

Two years ago I began to have shoulder and neck pain. At first I thought it was a bad night sleep and had a little bit of tension
Then I began to have a relapse in my depression and also the pain got worse
Finally my pain management doctor ordered an MRI and he told me that I had a bulging disc in my lower back.
So my question is...
Is somatic pain REAL & the physical pain was due to the depression?
Or was it physical AND somatic?
Does anyone now or in the past have a doctor that didn't… read more

Pain Management Dr's In Alabama

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Berry, AL

I'm looking for a pain mngmnt Dr in Jefferson or Tuscaloosa counties,in Alabama,or anywhere else around if you've had good experiences. It's a shame how you get treated just because you have chronic pain,we didnt ask to have the diseases or conditions we have to live with, no more than a diabetic or heart patient ask for their conditions, or to have to take pain med's to have a somewhat normal as can be life that we can have, most days I don't even feel like getting on fb,but if anyone knows of… read more

What Are The Options For Treatment For Fibromyalgia?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Worcester, MA

The doctors have me on the quadfecta of medications to treat fibromyalgia and all of its wonderful symtpoms, (baclofen, topiramate, cymbalta and lyrica), however, it has also caused me to gain almost 30 pounds in 3 months. I am now the heaviest I have ever been, which is making everything worse both physically and mentally. Does anybody have any alternatives either pharmaceutical or naturopathic?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member

I didn't notice how old or long this thread is. A lot of helpful thought on fibro. I've had most of the doctor part in place. PT or moving about were not on the menu at that time. Once my L3 disc was… read more

Has Anyone Been Refused Joint Replacements Because Of Significant Nerve Pain To The Joint?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Perth, UK

I was diagnosed with requiring both knees needed to be replaced. My consultant however told me that he wouldn't be able to do the operations as it was clear that I was experiencing nerve pain from my spine to both knees. He had two previous patients with similar conditions who had their knee joint replaced and both returned to see the consultant and begged him to amputate their leg as their nerve pain was so great after the surgery. He told me that he would never take the risk of doing… read more
