It’s nerve pain in various parts of your body.

Certain trigger parts of your body help determine if you have it - ankles, knees, neck. You touch the inside area of your knee or thigh close to knees and it feels like a giant bruise without being bruised. Same with ankles.

You have a brain fog feeling - like you can’t focus on anything, and you are “just there”. Can’t really think of anything but yet not ADD either.

You are very tired! Fatigue is the worst.

There is no cure and it is still being researched. My PSA infusions help the brain fog and fatigue.

Releasing endorphins is the best way to combat the fact that your brain constantly feels/detects pain. Movement is best- walking, swimming, cycling. I have Psoriatic arthritis too so really the only exercise I can do is water - “old lady running” in the pool (that’s how my rheumatologist described it 😂).

Definitely real. I'm just grateful they found things that help me. Back 2005 they mainly fell back on Cymbalta. It helped at first, but had to increase as time moved forward. By 2012 I was on double the normal dose, Gabapentin and Abilify to boost the effect of Cymbalta, but I developed Cellulitis on my lower leg and I had to stop taking Abilify while on antibiotics. Within 24 hrs they figured out it was the Abilify spiking my blood sugar, which was being treated with metformin. Needed something else, but I wasn't actually diabetic at least. Neurologist tried something new at the time called Savella. It became my God sent management for my fibro. Had to go to the max dose, but my fibro pain has been the one thing still under control even now in 2024. I've A bucket full of other pain related problems, tho' the worst are related to a violent fall into the street in 2017. I'd finally gotten to a manageable level from an SCS in 2016, but the fall ended that. It drove many discoveries, including some not pain related but Disability from loss of feeling and muscle control. They just get in the way once adding the pelvic pain to it. All I can say is read my story. Lots of tingling that's technically pain, but it's nothing compared to my pelvis. Now they've found something new on the pelvis. I'm getting a Nuclear scan tomorrow. Could be bone cancer or a bone marrow embolism. Given the fall, the embolism is more likely. We shall see.

If you're not already on it or tried, see about Cymbalta or Savella and Gabapentin or Lyrica for your fibro. Of what I've seen, the right combo depends on the patient, but some combo of the first and the second two is your best chance at fibro relief.

I have heard of the myth aspect. Pain is pain. And it IS called the PRACTICE of medicine, right?

Thank you. Anything helps at this juncture. A family member suspects it, but is not sure (nor is easy to convince to go to a doctor) and, as I mentioned, I am useless regarding any information about it. Thank you again.
