Has Anyone Had A Consultation With A Neuro Psychiatrist?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Bristol, UK

* How did you feel during your
appointment?
* Was seeing them relevant?
* Have you been offered any further
treatment?
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
My reason for asking is that my GP believes among other situations, experiencing a trauma can be a triggering factor for the onset of the symptoms of fibromyalgia & if this is so, whether I would be a good candidate for further treatment?

I would really appreciate your willingness to share your experience with me.

My Neuro has me seeing a Neuro Psychiatrist. He gets me and gets my Fibromyalgia totally. He has been extremely helpful and empathetic. We are trying new therapies to include taking Mucinex which actually helps. I see him monthly.

Ho Amber i was adviced 4 years ago to see a menthal psycholoog for coaching me with the nerve pain . And indeed helped me a lot with the emotions and to integrate pain in my life. He coached me by making my week fulfilling again.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member dealing with loss in life goes against the grain so much & hurts us in ways we never thought possible...I do think talking can be therapeutic & teach us how to adjust our lives even though it's painful 🌸🌷🌸🌷🌸🌷🌸🌷🌸

My mother passed 27 years ago. I was 27 at the time. I have had other deaths that have been significant to me including fitness, family of friends I considered family, grandparents., and my dad also. I see a counselor weekly and a psychiatrist by monthly. It all helps to have them there to talk to and yo listen. I lope this all helps someone.
