Cymbalta

Has anyone had difficulty in weaning off Cymbalta? My daughter went through hell for over a month with profound depression and fatigue, major mood swings, and extreme anxiety. It is our experience that the MINIMAL pain relief that is supposed to be associated with this antidepressant is not worth the side effects. One CRPS expert doctor (P. Choopra) says getting off Cymbalta is “brutal” and he finds it easier to get his patients off opiates than Cymbalta. I would use this drug only with extreme… read more

So glad I refused it when my doctor insisted that I use it. I had heard so many horror stories about withdrawal that I said I would not go on it. Glad I did!

Was on it for 6 months then went cold turkey off it, 0 withdrawal issues (been off it almost two years now). Was on 60mg of the stuff and i agree it is a bad drug before it i didnt have a issues with depression or anxiety yet in the 6 short months on it that all changed including a complete loss of sex drive n interest and it never even touhed the pain. Only good it did was stop my stress incontinence.

It is my understanding that when you are stopping cymbalta your doctor is supposed to gradually back you off of the cymbalta so you can avoid the withdrawal symptoms.

I was on 60 mg of Cymbalta for about 2 years. Coming off of it was a total nightmare. It took me 3 months before I had no problems. I had mood swings, crying, horrible anxiety, sweating profusely, shocking sensations. At the end I was dizzy 24/7 for over a week. There is no exit plan for Cymbalta . There have also been class action lawsuits against the drug company. It is truly a nasty drug. I wish your daughter the best
