Botulinum Toxin Injection

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Columbia, MD

This is not so much of a question as a comment on the write-up on Botox Injections. The first is to make sure that the doctor knows if the insurance company will pay for it. If it is not an FDA-approved indication (i.e., TMJ trigger points/muscle spasms) the insurance company probably won't pay for it. Go to www.fda.gov and search on "Botox approved indications" (or do a Google search using that).

Thanks for this information. I haven't been spoken to by my PM doctors about using it for muscle spasms - yet but I'll know about it now if it happens.
