As Anyone Ever Have A Cervical Rhizotomy?
I'm having a cervical rhizotomy & has anyone else had this done & did it help the pain?
well not sure exactly how cervical rhizotomies work but basically they use radio frequencies to burn the nerve stopping pain. the nerves do grow back at some point requiring the procedure be repeated. I am going to have it done to my lumbar and if I get good results will consider cervical. but cervical, from what I understand can be trickier due to other nerve bundles (that serve the extremities) that are close to the ones they target (local nerves that serve the general area). I have heard good things though so the benefit to risk is something I will weigh and decide. youtube has some informative videos on the procedure
Yes, I had a Cervical Rhizotomy after many Cervical Facets, the Rhizotomy was successful.
I've had rhizotomies, but it was in 2002. It wasn't painful the procedure that is. It was new back then. or more widely used. It did not help me but that is because the doctor had no clue.
what is that exactly ? I am in pain at lower base of neck - have had trouble for years with things getting out of place , and extreme pain until I either messed with it enough to calm it down - or went to Chiropractor , - 2 yrs ago I woke up one morning. felt like a chunk had been pulled out of my skull behind my left ear. still struggling with that , along with about 4 other points of Pain .
I hope it all goes well for you. I've never heard of this procedure, but would consider it if it had the slightest chance of working.
