How Do I Proceed

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Watertown, WI

I’ve been dealing with chronic pain for over 25 years. I won’t go in to all the details of what I have. So I’ve been at pain management for awhile. Methadone & vicoprofin. I hate methadone but my doctor has been a jerk about switching me. I had an incident in September. I was going through a scary divorce-hadn’t slept in 3 days-developed a migraine. I Had taken extra medication because I wasn’t thinking straight anyways. I tripped and hit my head which is the last thing I remember. My son found… read more

Is The Lack Of Access To Pain Meds Even Worse The Younger You Are And Also How You Look?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Martinsburg, WV

For example I know of older people that went to the same doctors as me and they got prescribed pain meds while I was denied. Or is it because I'm covered in tattoos and therefore look like the stereotype drug seeker?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member

Stereotypes yes .its unfortunate.

Intractable Pain With CRPS (unedited Because Of Site Limitations)

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Long Branch, NJ

I have been suffering from CRPS probably for five years now (the first two years were pretty definitely undiagnosed, and after going through a number of painful (and sometimes even untreated) circumstances and procedures over the years, I’m still reluctant to ask for help; I’m even more reluctant often to even acknowledge just how much I hurt (as an example, I literally walked around Italy for two weeks with not one, but two breaks in my leg, after my genius doctor diagnosed me with a torn… read more

Have you looked at Deep Brain Stimulation? its what is being talked about for me since all else isn't working. CRPS is a nightmare to live with intractable pain sadly is no better (been living with… read more

I Am Recommended Steroid Infusions For Inflamed Scar Tissue...... ????? What Are The Docs Thinking???????

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
A MyChronicPainTeam Member

If I had 100 steroid injections in my spine, it’s probably 200. I did steroid injections and they worked until the pain became too much. That’s when I had the spinal fusions. Until those no longer… read more

I Take Percocet And Neurontin For Chronic Hip And Back Pain (30+ Years). My Doc Now Wants Me To Try A Buprenorphine Patch (10 Mg)

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

She said I can continue to use my Percocet (7.5-325 mg) for breakthrough pain. Currently I take 4 pills a day as well as 600 mgs of Neurontin 3x’s a day. I’m hoping to cut down my Percocet dosage as soon as I can. I don’t want to OD or anything. Makes me very nervous starting new meds. Also, I assume the patch will be fine if I have a hot flash? I know heat is a factor with them. Can I also use one of those clear bandages that go over patches (I used them when I had hormone patches)? Thank… read more

Syrinx Treatment

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Richland, WA

Has anyone heard of or been treated for a syrinx? It was what the Dr called an incidental finding on my MRI and it's the length of 4 vertebrae.

Has Anyone Had A Spinal Cord Stimulator That Was Removed That Had Been In Place More Than 15 Years?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Syracuse, NY

I am scheduled for a spinal cord stimulator removal that has been in place 19 years. They are doing a 2 level laminectomy at the same time and I’m concerned that the scs removal will keep me under anesthesia longer than the benefits of removing it. I am concerned that the scar tissue has it cemented in the position it is in, and it will not slide out nicely.

What Do You Do When Your Employer Hired You Knowing You A Pain Disorder But Keeps Taking Away Hours?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Faribault, MN

My employer hired me knowing my pain issue and at first was very good with me. But almost 3 years later and a rough year with flares and hospitalizations, my boss keeps giving me extra hours then taking them away, if I try to get time off for doctors or like this last time, going to the ER for having Cellulitis. Sh'e punishing me for having pain. Even my friends have noticed. I depend on these hours. I want to know if I can do anything to stop this repeated behavior. How have others dealt with… read more
