Restless Leg Syndrome

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

What does restless leg syndrome feel like? I can feel the blood pumping in by veins/arteries from hip to toes. Is this how it starts?
Thanks!

Hi Cheryll and other RLS sufferers. I've just had a strange experience regarding RLS. I have it and have messaged about it but I do know everyone has a different story. We have a magazine here in the UK and last time I read it there was still no out and out treatment, just a lot of things to try and stories to study. So I was very surprised to hear from a friend who is a volunteer with me at the library where I do my gardening, that because of his RLS - and he's only 16 - he was referred for blood tests and they came back showing him deficient in iron, folic acid and vitamin D3. But not just that, they discovered that he has malabsorption because of coeliac disease so he's now on a gluted-free diet as well as supplements. This connection was news to me so I looked it up and yes there does seem to be a connection with iron, folic acid and vitamin D3 deficiency which is something else to try besides magnesium. I tried supplementing magnesium and that didn't help. I don't expect it will be the answer, but it's always good to hear there's a new line of enquiry. Meanwhile I was reminded again on Friday how easily our mental balance can be swayed just cos someone says or does something a bit stupid. Hope everyone's feeling reasonably OK today, and @A MyChronicPainTeam Member I hope the injuries heal very soon. The first bulbs are through in the library garden. Sadly it's been such poor weather I can't get any pics yet so here's one from this time last year. Luv & hugs, Alison

I will still talk to your dr about it because surgery may really aggravate it again.

Restless legs are awful. You feel like you have a gazillion bees buzzing and stinging you. Your legs also jump and kick of their own free will4 years ago when I had someone living with me I would always fall asleep for a nap by 7. He would sit there and just laugh because my legs had a mind of their own and were dancing around. I had no clue. I know of 2 meds for it one is mirapex and the other is requip.
Pray you dont have it because it gets worse. Becomes more painful to where the meds do not work and more and it keeps you up in tears. My aunt had it really bad and I follow her health wise. So am not looking forward to it.
Hugs &Blessings &Love

For me it's a constant need to stretch and move them to find a comfortable spot.
