It is diffecult to explain but in Holland it is very popular over here because it is a short intervention and the method is quick to learn ( 6 sessions in though) and helps a lot of people with trauma and PTSD . You can surch for it on internet for EMDR because i don t know enough English words to explain. The main activity is that you first research the core of the trauma and then you repead that sentence and the psychiater moves his fingers in front of you and produces sounds so a flexible part of you brain gets activated and restores the trauma. It sounds very hocus spocus but renomated psychiaters use this method because there is so much succes with it .people lose dreams and don t relive the traumas over and over again anymore. Now i read one artikel about pain management and EMDR and i am curious if some one tryed this.
I think he is talking about Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy which is used to help treat past traumas, stress disorders, anxiety, panic attacks and phobias
Sorry to butt in on another’s post but I’m very interested in a quick explanation or definition of what this is please. What are the potential benefits?
TIA
