I think we can lose muscle mass by not being active. Having a pinched nerve is very painful, so it interferes with our ability to stay active. Hope this helps. Hugs

The nerve intervates the muscle. If it doesn't the muscle doesn't move so lack of use will lead to loss. You gotta use it or lose it is true.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member there are numerous locations along the spine that feed the nerves to your bladder and bowl. If they are damaged or constricted it would cause these reactions. Also loss of muscle mass from unused. Which causes the skin ty o sag in those areas. Especially is this happened rapidly. Traction in your neck opens the disk space for blood and nutrients to enter the disk space. It should relieve those symptoms not cause it. I would look to your lower back. IMHO of course, I'm not a dr.

Debbylev At one time I called Laser Spine Institute, they told me I was a candidate for surgery, but it would cost me $10,000 out of pocket

I was just reading about pinched nerves, the article said that pinched nerves did not directly cause weight. But as you said,a lot of gained weight could cause pinched nerves,
