Anyone Using Spinal Cord Stimulator?
Also have transverse myelitis Told knee replacement and back operation
I've had a spinal chord implant for the last 25yrs, one of the first in the country and its been such a life saver. I've had 2 replacement units and I wouldn't be without it to be honest. If you want to know more or anything specific please ask
Limited yes but not as a result of the stimulator. The stimulator enables me to do things by blocking some of the pain signals. My problems are with permanent damage to my back and nerves predominantly (in its simplest form anyway)
I we are all different with different challenges but I can honestly say that I've not looked back after having my stimulator. I think if I hadn't have had it put in I wouldn't be here today. Don't get me wrong there are days when nothing helps but it's been such a tremendous help for me.
My advice would be to try other things and do everything you can to ease your pain before having any operation but if you can say that you've tried everything then have the test procedure and if that helps great. It's still a big operation but I trusted my consultant and it was one of my better decisions to have the stimulator fitted.
If there's anything you want to ask me please do if it helps you make a more informed decision.
I am just considering a trial of the Boston scientific interstim with high and low frequencies. The way the doc explained I will be able to do all the activities I used to before Pain - mountain bike, white water canoe ski lap swim yoga.
What is your feeling about activity after interstim.
I fell the same I wouldn't be where I'm at without the pain pump
I have to try some other meds first, but they were definitely considering it awhile back and I got scared I couldn’t ride horses and do yoga. Tell me, are you limited in any way?
