Getting Together In Person, By Phone, Online Etc.
I wondered if people that we meet here that live close by ever get together personally for coffee or even connect in some other way besides just our connections here. it is very lonely when we are in pain and even though we have wonderful support here, there is nothing like voice-to-voice contact and personal contact to build close friendships. How does one go about meeting others that live close by?
I lead a group in Ridgefield, WA at my church (although participants don’t need to go to the church). Perhaps start a group if you can’t find one. They are sometimes offered at pain rehab clinics.
@A MyChronicPainTeam Member: Are you on Facebook? If so, are you using the same name or another? I would be glad to have you as a Facebook friend. You can find me there using the same name.
@A MyChronicPainTeam Member I haven't gotten into the meet-up app yet I would have to start the group myself. What I thought I might do is put a notice here for those who live near me to maybe start meeting in the community room at my building. It would be free and it has tables and chairs and kitchen facilities so snacks could be brought in coffee could be made Etc. As a matter of fact watch my smoke! My next update will be inviting those who live close by to contact me regarding starting a group to meet here at my community room and with the information I gather will be able to decide on a date and time for our first get-together. You have gotten me excited! I did not think about the community room until earlier today!
Getting together for me is not an option. Not that I wouldn't like to give you all real hugs. Husband controls my friendships.
I am coming to each of your houses...lol
