My Chronic Pain Is Musculoskeletal Not Mental? Or Is It?
I was diagnosis with ADHD as a toddler. My mother never medicated my diagnosis. My school years were a struggle. As I got older and studied and taught myself cognitive techniques
Until a car accident in my 30's couldn't leave my home or drive. After many months decided to go to a pyschiatrist gave me pills etc...did nothing for me but make me worst off being a stay at home mother of 2 girls. Decided to learn and study my symptoms

Ladyrose2008, Funny how you mention quiet environment. That is what works best for me. Also, due to abuse as a child. I have to feel safe in my environment extremely important.
I am 60, I struggled with ADHD until almost 25 yrs old.
After the last car accident on November 19, 2015. My ADHD reimmersed. I stuttered due to high anxiety which I discovered in cognitive therapy it was actually PSTD.
My stutter is better. So is my anxiety. My PSTD still gets triggered generally when driving. But at least I can drive now, though not alone.
I never knew the mental diagnosis contributes to the skeleton PAIN.
But it makes perfect sense.
Thanks, for your story I appreciate your sharing π
What do you think? Who diagnosed the musculoskeletal condition? hzave you talked with your psychriatrist about muscul symptoms. You are aware these are interconnected. if I am hearing you, it soundslike symptoms after the 2nd accident increased the pain and changed your function. Hugs Kathy
Zeebela, the physical issues can contribute to anxiety, depression. It sounds like neuro issues which can go hand in hand. Have you tested for a TBI traumatic brain injury after motor vehicle accident? I have this as well. hugs kathy
Thank you for sharing. Accidents often point to some area of our body/lives. They are like a red flag. It has helped me to look at myself and my life. I am then able to address what is really going on. May I think it good your mother did not medicate. My son was medicated, he excelled, thrived without it. We discovered as may be your case; he is extremely bright..considered sypmtoms similar aspergers. I was able to keep him home and give him an education and challenge beyond what the school system could give him. He needed quiet environment to thrive as well. Hope this helps. hugs kathy You well may be like my son. He was home schooled a genius in electronics highly successful and in the space program.
It's both ... not either/or.
