I also have nerve pain in my leg because they waited too long to repair my pinched nerve. Pain meds don't help a lot. Mine flares up when I am on my feet too long and I get inflammation in my back. That pressure worsens mine. That's an indication for me to stay in my recliner, elevate legs for the day, or two. Ice pack helps my back. I use to be on a TENS unit years ago when my pain started. It intensifies mine, so that is not an option. I also use Diclofenac Topical (Valteran) works good for me. Our bodies are all different.
I feel your pain!💕

Increased alertness increases our sensitivity which is nerve sensation. Some medicine such as gabapentin or Benadryl can calm nerves. Also sometimes stimulants can bring about a reverse effect because the sensory nerves become overloaded and so they get tired and then we can rest. Often times the combined pharmacological effect of a sympathetic and a parasympathetic drug helps bring a balance in the nerve system. One of the Hallmark things that I do when my pain is just too much as I get on the floor and I start doing push-ups all night long if I have to and then I make sure my muscles get sore and once the muscles are sore the body is forced to put its attention on repairing those muscles and it takes all that energy away from the nervous system pains and puts it right on the muscles and that's one way to divert the pain but it's often just a temporary relief. I got to the point where I had to go in and lift really heavy weight doing squats up to 400 lb because my legs just hurt so bad. And then I was able to just toss around $300-350 lb anything higher than that my spine can't handle it I'm just not that big. And most importantly what exactly is the source of your nerve pain from that's the Hallmark first primary question you need to ask because you don't want to aggravate an area that might be involved in inflammation as well. So you might want to take a look very carefully what your pain is if it's more localized such as a wrist or if it's more global such as in my case where the entire spinal cord is affected. I found out what I needed and I'm doing great even better than I ever could have been. Peace -Jon

Hi Loraine. Changing over to Lyrica has been a real challenge!! The low dose was too little putting it up to fifty made me shaker. I was thinking back to when I started the nuerotin- I had to take a tablet 5 times a day as I couldn’t do two at a time. So that’s what I’m doing with the Lyrica this week end. I don’t shake that way. I need to send my Dr what I’m doing and see what he says. Still dealing with pain. Have been watching programs on u- tube about nerve pain. Very informative. Going to get some vitamins they suggested. I’ll try anything! Can’t hurt. Hope this finds your having a good day!! 🙏❤️🙏❤️
