I Seem To Have Lots Of Mood Swings. I Know It's The Pain But I Also Wonder If It's The Oxycontin I Am On

I've been on a high dose of Oxycodone for many years and I find it can change your mood depending on how much pain you are experiencing. When I'm experiencing a lot of pain and the pain medication begins to wear off I certainly find myself much moodier. Oxycodone is a short-acting pain medication and I find it works much better than time-released medication but you also experience more highs and lows. Knowing this helps somewhat as I try to just take it in stride and ride out the lows as best I can. I hope it helps a little knowing you're not the only one. I hope you have more good days than bad ones. Take care...GBU

I believe medications can make each person feel differently. I am on Oxycodone, for many years for Chronic Pain. It does not seem to cause me issues. I do experience mood swings the more my pain increases, definately.
