How Do You All Cope When Awaiting Surgery Without Certain Medications?

That's not really helpful. I know why the Dr's do it, I just wonder how others cope with the pain while waiting till they can get back on regular medications. I just wonder, esp after surgery, why I can't get on the arthrotech sooner, since it, in a sense, thins my blood, as a blood thinner would do. I just would hope for a shortened period of time, or another option to help with the excruciating daily pain while waiting before and after surgery. They never prescribe me anything. Some even flippantly telling me to take tylenol. My pain Dr has come through on such occasions, but I would think there was a way the Drs could talk to each other first and get it all set up for when I have to stop certain meds.

That’s because if you don’t stop taking it in the allotted time you could bleed out on the operating table. It’s for your safety.

Hmmm- I'll have to try. They tell me 10 days to stop my arthrotech, because of the chance of bleeding, but since I had a blood clot a LONG time ago, they give me blood thinners after surgery, prolonging the time I'm off the arthrotech. It doesn't make sense to me, just let me take it if it's a blood thinner in a sense.
