Yes, I had surgery in 1998. Spinal decompression and reconstruction with rods and screws. My back had been broken. I also have stenosis in my cervical spine. Thank you for responding.
I dont recommend them i had them every month. They are steroid shots. I had all the side effects. Perspiring heavily it was embarrassing and couldn't sleep at all until i quit taking them.
I will be having wires installed in my spine with a control that adjusts the amount of electricity to kill the pain impulse from getting to my brain.
I have had cortisone-steroid epidurals. My Dr gave me 1st one. I got little results. When 1 yr passed we did 2- 2 weeks apart. I had no back issues for 6 yrs ( L2-3, 3-4, 4-5). Then in 2007 I did have epi once a year for 2 yrs then none until 2017 post neck surgery. I have had them done 3 now to the neck. This last one I had 3 mos ago, it seems to be wearing off after having botox for my shoulder muscles? I had a bad reaction to the botox, I do not know the mg Dr used this time? or trauma from the needle or just the ongoing condition? It is dissappointing, I did have a good reduction in pain neck and back (we did both). I know most Ot's, Pt's prefer a stretching, strengthen program for pain relief. In my mind it's a treatment option. God bless you, Kathy
But they work and my pain is so bad I will try anything.
