I've attempted to search it online but it just confuses me. Does anybody here know?

Psychologists can diagnose and provide non-prescription therapies. Psychiatrists can diagnose and write prescriptions, but usually don't get involved with non-prescription therapies.

It can be either or but a psychiatrist not a psychologist is the dr who can write an order for anti -depressants or necessary meds for depression and anxiety.
I used to see both I found psychiatrists to only care about writing script and only gave me 15 mins per appt. My psychologist gives me an hour of talk therapy discussing real life issues that chronic pain causes. This has been my experience.

Good luck 🍀 Be well 🙏🤗

Right now there's a mental health crisis. As far as I'm concerned the only doctor worth a tinkers damn is an ER doc. The rest have such poor training because med school is a joke. Bodies are not separate parts. The gut controls your mental health more than anything else. It's responsible for like 80% of our seratonin. And many other factors effecting depression. Whst these jerks don't get is that we're depressed because we hurt, not the other way around!

Thank you Catherine 🤗 God willing my tmj dysfunction will get treated by the end of July . I have had phone appointments with a mental health person so I've let them know what I'm going through so don't worry about that ☺
