I don't recommend anyone go to er for suboxone once you take that your labeled a addict and will never get decent pain meds. My daughter friend went through this the suboxone almost killed her. They can't just put you in it either until all other opioids are out of your system or it will through you into severe withdrawls. I know several who were trlcked by their drs is just disgusting

I cant believe they are doing this to you! Getting cut off opioids after 15 years is not only patient harm but withdrawals is inhumane! After taking for 15 yrs im pretty sure your body is opioid dependent, meaning if you take away the opioid cold turkey you will have severe withdrawals. Depending on your health, co-morbid diseases etc. opioid withdrawal can be fatal. If youre in the USA you should be able to get MAT like suboxone, buprenorphine, clonidine etc. Try an inpatient or outpatient drug rehab or family Dr.

Ive been on opioids for 9+ years and my pain Dr. told me i could very easily die from withdrawals. When the Covid pandemic started i was at my pain clinic waiting in line to check out & was asking what if’s If i got covid & couldnt come for my appt, what if clinic closed b/c staff had covid? what if i couldnt get my Rx? Etc. The RN said You could DIE from opioid withdrawal & another patient in line chimed in that in fact its true & she had personally seen it. If all else fails in your situation & you run out & go into withdrawals Go to the Emergency Room & they will monitor you, treat your symptoms & can give you suboxone or sumilar & referalls for follow up care.

I would first check with your Dr to see if pain meds will be given after surgery. I'm in ND a Dr wanted to fuse my lower back together and I was told if it doesn't relieve pain I'm screwed because I wouldn't be put on pain meds ever again. I had a friend who had the surgery I was suppose to have. He said it worked good the first 6 months after that he has more pain than he did before surgery. My friend now walks with his back hunched over. I should say the Dr wouldn't do mine unless I lost a hundred pounds first. I told him I'm not having the surgery anyway!! I told Dr if I can't walk then maybe we will talk.
