I would appreciate hearing how others have dealt with a long term chronic pain diagnosis.
Thank you

Hi, when I was diagnosed with chronic pain, my dr prescribed me painkiller pills, I try to keep a positive mind. Doing a little every day, don't do too much because you'll pay for it for a day or two after. I don't know if you have insomnia caused by the pain but I do. It's part of the symptoms. Extreme fatigue, lack of sleep, unable to do what we used to do, then go the frustration and some of us feel anxiety too. If you have a friend or a husband wich you can talk to about your feelings and your pain level. That's help not feeling alone in this battle. Take it day by day, when we woke up in the morning it's always a surprise day, we don't know how our body gonna react during the day. Please take care of yourself, and chat with us it's good to be able to tell what we are passing through. Wishing you a happy day.

Before the diagnose i had my frustration and depressions because of the pain. After diagnose i could work on acceptence with a klinical psycholoog because the situation is static you fight lesser against it. Thats the only positive thing i can mension about it futher it makes your life very laborous and diffecult. Its very comforting if partner is suportive.

Susan, sometimes it's even hard to reply, we are so fatigued. I finally have my husband on board with chronic pain and that is a tremendous help.
I try not to schedule anything too close, so I have days in between to rest. I try to not feel guilty if I have a couch/bed day.
Just look forward to each day, come what may. 😎🤗💝🙏

My last pain free day was 2003.......been from pl 10+ to hovering around 3 to 8 constantly.....Believe it or not just being on this site is helpful getting thru the days and nights...I don't know how or why....maybe misery loves company?

Each day is a new day, each day means you get to assess if there is something different that you are going to be able to do or if it is going to be more of the same old same old.

Some days you have no choice but to go for that medical appointment or ER trip, but when you have those days that you have a choice to do something that you wish to do and you are able to do it, then it makes those days that you can't that much easer to deal with because you know there are those days that you will have that you get to do something that you wish to do for yourself because you can do it and that is enough.

Some days it is enough that I get a shower/bath because that is all i can get my body to do without over doing it - and that is fine, I might not be happy with it, but it is at least better then not having it.

Some days I feel like I could go out and shop, so I go out and try to get the most important parts done first before doing anything extra (as in important stuff gotten before doing anything that is fun, such as window shopping etc).

Personally just being able to lounge out on the deck in the sun, is better then just being able to lay in bed. At least I am outside and getting "fresh air" that is something which is better then nothing at all.
