I hope I did not come across as bragging about my house. I moved to Missouri from Jacksonville, FL, 14 years ago to take care of my elderly parents to keep them out of a nursing home. I lost my Dad first in 2016 and my Mom in 2018 and inherited a little house I call my castle. It's nothing fancy, but I don't need much, I've learned over the years. I would qualify, but my spend down each month on Medicare is $835, because I don't rent and i don't have a house payment. I am fortunate that i have my own home, very grateful to my Dad, but with taxes a insurance and doing all on my own it's tough.
