Lower Back Pain
***Update*** All my bloods back to normal. Still in pain 😟. MRI beginning of April but with this terrible virus, I very much doubt that will happen. So I will just get on with it in the confines of my own home. 🤷🏻♀️
**Update ** Iv just had blood results which indicate low white blood cells. As I have had no obvious illnesses recently, more bloods ordered
I have had really bad lower back pain for around 9 months. Nothing seems to touch it. Any ideas as to treatments that have worked for… read more
I ordered a cheap back brace from Amazon. It's adjustable and comes in various sizes. I make sure it lifts my lower tummy. Also...magnets CAN relieve pain. Years ago I was in a multi-level marketing thing trying to get people to join and buy Nikken magnets. They were powerful. Maybe extra strong magnets attached to the back brace will help you. I still have a couple of the Nikken magnets. It's pretty miraculous how they can ease pain! I live on my heating pad. Heat seems to relax muscles for a while. There are a gazillion rubs and creams out there. Icy Hot or one of the others may help you. It's worth a try. Good luck!
When I’m at work, I wear an ice pack for lower back pain. It has a Velcro strap to hold it on and is very effective....most of the time. Immediately after work, I lie down on my Spoonk Mat (I call it my bed of nails). It helps a lot. I also take a small dose of Kratom, which gives me enough energy to exercise. Still very hard to cope with this daily pain!
Cathe, you don’t say how the pain is affecting you. Just in the lower back, nothing radiating down the legs, etc? I’d first try physical therapy to strengthen your core muscles. If you can, take Ibuprofen for swelling/inflammation. If that doesn’t work, look into cortisone injections.
That’s it to start. Worked for me for a couple of years before I required surgery. Hopefully yours is just an acute strain of the lower lumbar and with physical therapy will resolve itself.
Good luck!
The spinal cord stimulator works great for me! Numbness is still a problem in both feet. So no pain pump for me, still taking the pain meds though!
When my back pain got really bad my pain Dr. had me to try z sppinal cord stimulator, it helped really good but for only about 6 months. The next step was to put another stimulator in my leg and it never did any good. So they removed both of those and now I have a pain pump. It has helprd me so much and with the medicine going through my spin I donot get the side effects, I don't take the really strong pain meds and fall asleep in my food. It doesn't make me sleepy and it doesn't give me a buzz like they do some people. If you have a pain doctor discuss these with him. If you get a choice go for the pump first but the insurance may make you go in steps like they did me. I hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon.
