24Things Some Doctors Don’t Tell Chronic Pain Patients
https://themighty.com/2017/06/what-doctors-dont...
Excellent information! I know that I am researching everything in my CT scan so that when I go to the pain clinic on the 18th, I will be more knowledgeable than the NP that is going to talk to me about it! It is then that I will request an appointment with the Dr. of the clinic, and have him conversation with me about the findings and future treatment. Maybe I will make a call on Monday to even change the Np appointment to a Dr. appointment! Thank you for the courage to stand up for myself with confidence.
Well done my friend!

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member,
Yes I’ve had previous CT scans. They were done by my former employer and that is why I drove 20 mins away in a snowstorm! As far as I am concerned, they are the best!
I got my results, and am now dissecting them line by line to present my case for surgical intervention to relieve my pain! I have case studies that I will print and take with me to present to them that vacuum phenomenon, which I have at L5-S-1 is more of a disaster to leave untreated. Unknown to me, is that it was seen 8 years ago and nothing was done about it!! This time I have the written report, and a prepared to go to a neurologist without their (pain management) blessings! The appointment is with a NP, and I may call and cancel that one and reschedule with the doctor that operates the practice. I will keep everyone in the loop.
Thank you for you advice!

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member,
Michael, as I already have a stimulator that I can not get them to reposition the leads, I’m not eager to let them place another... they did not even include the lead that I am having trouble with on the CT scan, because the dipwad PA didn’t specify to have the scan start at T-10, and only ordered the lumbar spine...splitting hairs, it has always been included before!
They did reiterate that I have vacuum phenomenon at L-5 -S1, I googled it and found case studies that the pain can be stopped with surgery removing this gas in my disc space. This was seen 8 years ago, yet nobody mentioned it to me!
So thank fi have access to the full report now, and can dissect it before they tell me the pieces they feel are important!

Have you had a CT Scan before? I’ve had many, due to Bronchiectasis. They are very sensitive and pick up everything. My allergies or sinus infection have even influenced them. I’ve had bad and good physicians read them. So it’s very important that you find the very best specialist to read them! Even then, wait on God about the “findings.” One inept Pulmonologist recommended a Bronchoscopy and fungal treatments for me. Thankfully I was able to consult with my old Pulmonologist back home.
I’m here if you want to discuss it.
I know you’re having a wonderful time with your grandkids. Savor every moment ❣️

Wishing you the best Cheryll and prayers 🙏🙏🙏
