Members shared mixed experiences with ketamine infusions for depression and chronic pain, with some finding temporary relief while others saw little benefit after just one or two treatments. Several members expressed curiosity tempered by concerns about cost, insurance coverage, and potential mental health side effects, particularly for those with bipolar disorder. A recurring theme was uncertainty about how many infusions are needed to see results, with the general sense that more treatments might be necessary but accessibility and affordability remain significant barriers.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member it’s a medication that is supposed to reverse depression & is also used to treat chronic pain. They give it IV & just recently FDA approved a nasal spray of it.

I received two infusions. I am not experiencing benefit, but maybe if I could have hung in there for a few more? The clinic staff told me that they help most everyone they treat.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member yeah I’ve had the radio frequency ablation or rhizotomy a couple times now & agree helps! My dr said The highest he can go is C3 & my fractures are higher up. I’m surprised that no one has heard of ketamine for depression & chronic pain in humans. They’re several ketamine clinics around here & several pain clinics here are advertising they do ketamine infusions. Thanks for responding & hope you’re having a low pain day!

Never tried not heard of ketamine for people. It is an animal tranquilizer. For them they can't move but are not asleep. I've heard of it as a date rape drug too. I have had the nerves burned in my back, again in 10 days, that helps me for over a year
