Has Anyone That Takes Opioid Medication Have Surgery Or Sedation For A Procedure That Didnt Work? What Did They Do?
For those that are opioid tolerant like taking opioid Rx’s everyday, what do they give you for pain or sedation or surgery and how much do you get? Im having shoulder surgery for dislocation and take oxycodone daily. Ive been on various pain medications(fentanyl,Oxycontin,Narco, etc) for approx 7 yrs and have high tolerance.
Yes, but my pain management doctor knew it wouldn't work, so he gave me an epidural before I had the surgery, & it actually helped me some. But the after effects, I had more than normal back pain.
I had lower back rfa and had a rare reaction according to dr. I woke up in horrible burning pain my leg wouldn’t work. It was awful. My lower back feels like it has a knot in it and hurts more now.
One time for si injections they gave me a muscle relaxer instead supposedly it was to relax me and make me sleepy. Nope 👎 It hurt so bad I’m yelling who gave me fake pills! This is 🐮 💩 I was so 😡 a nurse kept patting my hand saying almost done. Then dr says next side. So I kept screaming knock me out! They wouldn’t 🤷🏼♀️👹
Wow! I’m so sorry all this happened & your foot when it didn’t have to happen if the didn’t put you wrong on table! Whenever I was having a interventional procedure on my neck I was in holding in hallway & they had older gentleman face down, padded & restrained to table & there was 2 younger guys in w/ him & waiting on Dr. & 1 guy farted in his face on purpose & they started giggling & when Dr came in he smelled it & they blamed the patient & were joking around w/ masks on so you couldn’t tell who was who & the man couldn’t do anything cuz strapped down, so when Dr left again to answer call they farted on him again! When I was in recovery they accused a different man of faking unconscious so held his arm up & it dropped on his nose & started bleeding & they stuffed a tampon in him & we’re trying not to laugh. He woke up & started to remove it & didn’t know why & they told him he hit himself. It’s that kind of stuff I was worried about b/c I know dr for years & have vetted him & he is 35 but mature.
I was having ablasions done, they would not give me pain medication unless I did. They would sedate me but i could still feel it. The last time i was there they hit a nerve in my lower back to my knee. Colorado Pain denied it and kicked me out of the program because i wouldnt do anymore. The ablations never worked.
It was at a surgery center most of the time I’m knocked out... idr why the dr thought Valium would work 🤷🏼♀️ The nurses afterward said SI injections are the most painful and were surprised 🤦🏼♀️🙄🤷🏼♀️
