Has Anyone Had A Drug Testing Issue When They Apply For A Job?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Brenham, TX

I've thought of going back to work but am certain a positive drug test will not allow me to get the job. I take hydrocodone and zanax xr. Has anyone had this problem when they apply for a job?

Pain meds and Xanax are not what they are testing for. The drug tests are for illegal drugs. They also ask you for a list of medications so what is prescribed by a Dr doesn't matter. What they are more interested in is things like cocaine and marijuana. With marijuana, you are ok if you have a marijuana card and live in a state that's legal but not if you don't.

I told human resources upfront that I was taking pain medicine and they told me to tell the agency where I was going to be tested. It was not a problem. I would just tell whoever is testing you. Good luck. God Bless.

They test for..
Marijuana
Opiates
Benzoates
Any illegal drugs like Meth and Heroin
Most places will hire if you have legitimate scripts and a letter from your doctor. They may tell you up front that you will not be able to get full coverage insurance due to previous ailments.
Just be honest and it will work out just like it should..God bless
