Anyone Have Pain In "high Thighs"?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Arkansas City, AR

At least 6 months I have been having incredible pain in the highest area of my thighs. (like where it is attached to the body) Sometimes I can't even walk for several minutes. This is my newest whiney butt and I have no idea what's going on.
Thanks for any info.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member, You are almost describing me to a T! Im not having the numbness yet. My Dr took away my muscle relaxer's when the rule's changed on pain meds. I was allowed to keep a few Percocet. I use a heating pad ALL the time.
You have cleared up a few things for me , and thank you.

Have a wonderful day!!

Drs said my pain was caused by arthritis. Both hips bone on bone and rt hip deteriorated further. I also get referred pain down my thigh and in my knees. They said replacement surgery would fix but I need to lose a bunch of weight first. It is not going well. Am on assorted pain meds. Pain keeps increasing and we have increased med strength but it's not helping much. I'm trying to find a surgeon who will do surgery at my weight. Sorry for the long story, but in a nutshell , have you talked to an ortho?

Hi JoAnn Johnson,
I don't have a Dx yet but I'm thinking it has to do with the fact that I have lower back herniation and osteo. in my hip's. I will see my Dr next Thursday and hopefully we can address this. I will try to remember to let you know.

Is it a burning pain? I also have Spinal stenosis, DDD and RA. I've had the thigh pain for hears and my right outer thigh is always numb. An ortho doctor and a neurologist both said that it was a trapped nerve in the front of my hip and they really don't like doing surgery there. I take Neurontin and anti inflammatories and muscle relaxers. I've learned to live with it. When it gets really bad, after I've stood for more than 10 minutes or sat in the wrong type of chair, or walked any distance, I take Percocet and sit down with an ice pack.

Sounds like the front of your hip. I had a lot of pain there and steroid injections helped.
