I Am Curious On The Side Affects Of Gabapentin Please? I Have Noticed Some Teeth And Gum Issues Lately.

I do not know if the medication is even still working for my pain. I just am wondering if there are other meds for my pain due to some possible new side effects. Or is it affects?

Lyrica is Preglabin... Gabapentin is Neurontin. There is a difference.

I take 300mgs a day of Lyrica...that means 1800mgs of Gabapentin.

So why would I choose to use something at a higher dose just because they want me to take a similar generic drug that does NOT cover my neuropathy the same? Just saying, it is like comparing tangerines and oranges... everyone has their preference.

In reference to your question about gabapentin, I was on it for a long time and today my teeth r being pulled left and right. So yes I believe it affects the teeth.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member, I just switched off the Gabapentin back to Lyrica. It does not make sense to me to pound my liver with 1800mgs a day of the Gabapentin when 300mgs of the Lyrica does better. Have you tried the Lyrica? The Gabapentin has been around longer, and depending on your drug coverage, Gabapentin is less expensive, but I find that Lyrica works better for me.
As for the teeth, mine were long ago pulled...codiene for 5 years ate mine up.

Best of luck!

Blessings
