Has Anyone Had Nerves In The Back Severed Or Burned? My Dr, Wants Me To. DOES IT WORK?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Birch River, WV

I have AR and nerves in spine, one pinched in upper back makes hands numb which I also have AR in them. I also have bone spurs. My Dr, refuses to give pain meds. Shots in back did nothing. If you had this done please tell me if I should or not have it done. I have used every rub out. Does not help. Even hemp oil. Drugs have destroyed help for those who need them. Dr, said not allowed to. Does anyone know of anything that helps? God Bless.

I had nerve endings burned several years ago over a period of weeks. I'm sorry to say that for me it was not any kind of solution. As I said this has been over 12 years ago. The next doctor I was referred to did what was then called nerve stimulation. I know now that it was basically accupuncture to the 3rd degree. It was supposed to be a minimum of a 5 week treatment. Once a week for approximately an hour and a half I'd be given light anesthesia. Then I became a human pin cushion. The first time I noticed some relief. Second time no further improvement noticed. After the third treatment I had hope that I wouldn't have to live in severe pain forever. Then I received the news, the insurance company cut off my treatment. In spite of two specialists and myself 2 appeals were denied. At that time I couldn't afford the treatment. I've since, in recent years seen accupunturists for my chronic pain and the root cause of other ailments and conditions. I'd recommend accupuncture, but you need a good doctor/practitioner. It's a blessing that in the City where Iive the top school in the Nation has two locations. Compared to a medical doctor the doctor of accupuncture is reasonable. Students are monitored by the doctor, but they generally do the treatment. These are 2nd and 3rd year students. Most students have a 2-4 year degree before they're accepted as a student. Texas has some pretty stringent laws. Not all States do. Wishing you the best! 🙏🙏🙏

I'm so sorry that you are having such awful pain! For the period of time my meds were cut to nothing I didn't know how to exist. A few months ago I started seeing a doctor who is too slowly, but none the less, starting to treat me with pain medication. I depend on accupuncture/pressure for pain also. Some of my problems that cause pain are only partially relieved by meds. I was prescribed a compound cream that helps for certain pain. Ketomine and gaberpentin are 2 of the 5 ingredients. An Eastern medicine patch helps other pained areas. Generally heat doesn't help, but I purchased an infrared heating pad which helps while I'm using it. Maybe these could help you too.
Have a blessed week!

I have had my neck area on both sides burned. It didnt seem to help very long. One side was a better outcome than the other. Very sorry you are restricted from pain meds. Not fair.

Personally I use CBD for internal I use one that has 300mg in 1oz. I use a 0.5 ml twice a day. That is a water soluble. 5mg of CBD per dose. The other that I use is topical cream or balm with CBD that has 500 mg in 2 oz . I apply this probably every 2 hours. I use just a little on the tip of my finger it covers about a 4x4 inch area of my back. Do your research, look up the 10 or 30 best CBD companies. I wish I could tell you which ones I use here but I can't, due to community guidelines. I'm also looking into one that offer a much higher dose. like 1,500 mg per oz for both internal and balm. There are some reputable companies out there, because not all of them are. Some offer discounts for people who are vets or long term disability. Do your research. When dealing with my back pain for the last 9 years I essentially have no disc between my L5 S1 I have used a variety of pain meds. The problem with opioids is there is no ceiling. It got ridiculous. I now use about 10% of a dose of what I used 4 years ago. I weaned my self down as low as I could go.CBD has helped me tremendously. Acupuncture has also worked. I'm concerned that your doctor doesn't put value or ignores in your pain, that is just wrong.
