Does Anyone Has PTNS For Overactive Bladder ?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I get for two years Percurtaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation for my overactive bladder ( not funcional urge ,loss, bladderpain ) ones in two weeks in a hospital . It is a little electro needle in my leg who stays 30 minutes in contact with my bladder nerve. Today they cold that i can do a pilot and treat myself at home after a course with injecting the needle. Does anybody treat her or him self with PTNS and how are your expiriences.

I have had it for a while now. I have an interstem. Medtronic makes it. It is an implanted nerve stimulator. I strongly do not recommend this device if you have balance or nerve issues. Mine never worked and now I have all kinds of problems, such as testicular pain and highly overactive bladder. I know people that think it's fantastic. I also took the pills and they didn't work either.

My experience is with the overactive part also. I knew long ago they could give me a pill , but i never did. I prefer peeing more often , and that is often ,whether i drink any liquids or not. I dehydrated myself once to check, i go pee regular every half hour or so. And i get the sweats at the same time. I will never again br able to take the airplane, as those are the things they watch for in terrorists, so go figure. And i spent two weeks younger going thru test after test, nothing so go figure some more

Bedbound is nasty but thats also not nice always your catheter with you and never go out for a walk again. I have pudendus nerve damage luckley i can walk 1 or sometimes 2 miles but the pain was / is horrible. Have to say i have some relieve the last 3 weeks. I am very blessed after 5 years some progress.
Wish you all the best Rusty this is the body we have to do it with we can t buy another. If it was so we were going both shopping with big bags and all our savings. Ik bought then a new pelvic and a new knee and a new bladder. 3 for the prise of 2 in the after holiday sales.
