I've been dealing with this issue on and off for the last 19 years. At the reconstructive orthopedic clinic I normally get cortisone shots in the problem shoulder and depending on the severity physical therapy at my local hospital. I would love to know of any other ideas to address my pain. I'm thrilled with the pain relief with the cortisone shots, but being a brittle type 1 diabetic I'm always looking for help with the pain that doesn't mess with my blood sugar. Preferably home stretches that… read more

Please go to your local VA office. You might get help from them.
They can help you find out if you have a disability from being in the Marines. My husband got disability for flat feet, PTSD, and other things I can't remember. You would be surprised what disabilities they might find.
Anyway, my husband gets free medical, and perscriptions from the VA.
It's worth looking into. Best wishes!

Thank you for those wonderful ideas to help with the pain. For my age my family doctor and orthopedic doctor think it was the expected wear & tear from serving in the Marine Corps. Still happy I served. : )

I would try and get into a physical therapy program that can do “cupping”, acupuncture and or needling. The needling helps me.
Try taking Turmeric. You can buy it in capsule form on Amazon. You can also purchase your own tens unit and ask physical therapy how to use it.

Hang in there. You’re too young to have pain issues
