Burning Over Battery One Week After Nevro HF10 Stimulator Implant?
I turn it off, but it is still feeling like I am getting burned when I moved around. I am also getting painful naps in my ankle area.
@A MyChronicPainTeam Member I thought your legs were doing better with your unit. I've not heard about these problems in the ankle area. These units are isolated to your spine and wherever the battery is installed. @A MyChronicPainTeam Member is right, you need to discuss this with your doctor. It's not related to the implantation of your stim unit it's something else. You need to minimize twisting and bending for 6 weeks after surgery so scar tissue will anchor the leads. They still want me to wear my back brace for 4 more weekend to remind myself to not bend or twist. I know that's hard to do but you need to get Ty to help you with that. I live alone and believe you me my life would be in the floor if I didnt bend some. I just try to keep my back straight and bend at the hips by squatting. My poor knees dont like it but I'm trying to protect those leads from moving. Please just try to keep this in mind and get it checked out if it continues. Is the joint hot? That's a sure sign of infection. Just a thought and maybe one that keeps you from having to call the doctor. Go with God. Take gentle care and Happy New Year.
@A MyChronicPainTeam Member How are you doing? Hows the stim unit working for you? If you dont mind I have a few questions about your unit. I've been asked by lots of people how the masking feels. I've thought long and hard how to explain "strumming". Then it finally came to me. To best describe it it feels kind of like when you get a chill and you shiver. That shivering is the best way to describe how my unit feels when it's making pain. Does yours feel like that? Can you describe it better if it does. One other question is do you catch yourself holding your breath if it masks the same way and its turned up a little high? I sure do and its driving me nuts, especially when I'm trying to sleep. Do you sleep with yours on or do you turn it off? The only time I've turned mine off is when I'm recharging the stimulator. Otherwise I've left it on, even when I'm showering. With mine you have to have the remote and the stimulator in a sphere of influence. It's big enough that It covers the entire apartment and patio. So I dont have to carry it all over when I'm at home. It also seems to be stronger when lying down or sitting with pressure against the small of my back. I can also move a certain way and it feels like it was turned off. Just curious if that just my brand of stimulator or does your brand do any of this or is it just me? I hate to bother you about it, you're the only other person I've talked to that has this current generation of stim units. I know that's a bunch of questions but without wifi for the last 10 days I just waited until I got it back to ask you. I really hope you are getting that relief of the everyday gnawing pain that's disappeared for me. What a blessing. I get overly active and it rears it ugly head right through it and let's me know it's not disappeared. Is the leg better? You were having issues at the ankle last we spoke. A burning sensation you thought might be with the battery or connection. I feel so far behind. Been keeping all my online family in my prayers. Take gentle care and God bless you and the family.
I have no answer for you my dear, sorry. I do think the best thing is to get it checked out by your surgeon or primary doctor, just to be on the safe side. Could just be waking up a nerve. Hugs!
Could be irritated, not healed over, or infected inside. Just my thoughts. I would have this checked out soon.
I called my representative. She had me turn the stimulator off until I see her tomorrow. I just get a stinging sensation when I walk. It sounds like she has had other patients with this complaint. It has something to do with the nerves in the area that is healing. Hugs
