Problem With Teeth Due To Medication!
I’m having a lot of problems with my teeth for the past few months. My jaw bone holding my teeth is actually eroding and all of my teeth are loose, some worse than others. I’m wondering if it could be from one of my heath conditions or the meds I take. Anyone else having any type of issues like this?
Dentists here recommend peroxide and baking soda for gum disease. You don't swallow it. Just swish around for a minute.
Hi.
I have been on various different types of medications for the past ten years due to chronic pain after a failed spinal surgery. I had the remainder of my teeth removed and full dentures put in just this past June. Chunks of my teeth were snapping off. I found out from the dentist and dental surgeon that my teeth had been eaten from the inside out due to my medication. I basically had eggshells for teeth. I voluntarily had my teeth all pulled because it is to my understanding that heart disease runs in my biological family and bad teeth and/ or oral infections can send poison and infection to go straight to the heart more often concluding with death. I also have acquired type 2 diabetes since the surgery and it’s failure. Disability covered a large portion of my dentures. Indian affairs paid the balance. However the immediate dentures may have to be remade depending on how my mouth heals. I would look into special disability allowances. I believe they have special allowances for dentures. Good luck.
All my upper teeth are crumbling and going black, think it's the 80mg of morphine I'm on a day...but the nerves and roots are holding fast, so it's agony :( I've never had so much as a filling in 47 years...and now I wish they'd pull them all out and screw false ones in, as I now hate smiling I'm so conscious of them eroding and the gum line being eaten away :( but...Im a bloke, so having played Rugby for years, expected to lose a tooth or two..and not mind! So how you ladies must feel I just take my hat off to you all, it must be awful..my better half has a similar problem from 28 years of Epilim Chrono...and it breaks her heart when she loses a tooth, she's still only 42, and had such a hard time of it, I've nothing to complain about really :D she's my driving force, or I'd have given up trying years ago :D but Shhh don't tell her or she'll have me doing more crap than I do already XD hehe
Went to the specilist.... hes going to root plane all my teeth. Its going to be a painful procedure so they are breaking it down into 4 sessions. Hes going over my med list to see if any of them could be the cause. He doesnt understand why i have so much bone loss. My teeth are 15-50 percent loose. He said after the planing they will still be loose but it will ease the pain some. Hes not ready to talk about dentures yet. Hes going to do more research to try to figure out the cause. Im diffently going to start using activated charcoal to help balance the good and bad bacteria. Just praying this works and some of the pain goes away! Ill keep everyone posted!!! Thanks for all the input! Its very helpful! Much love to all! 💜💜💜
I have been on morphine tablets and patches for a good few years now, and I have had to have a good few teeth removed, due to the meds. Sending hugs to everyone xx
