Members shared a wide range of approaches to managing back pain, with many relying on heating pads, hot showers or baths, stretching, and turmeric as their first line of defense before turning to medication. Several members described using prescription pain relievers including tramadol, Percocet, hydrocodone formulations like Hysingla and Vicodin, Dilaudid, and muscle relaxers such as baclofen and Tizanidine, often combined with heat therapy that many said travels with them everywhere. A recurring theme was the personal nature of pain management, the challenge of finding what works for individual pain levels, and growing concerns about opioid restrictions and doctors pushing patients toward alternatives like marijuana that some members found ineffective.

I'm on Hysingla which is 24-hour release hydrocodone (no acetaminophen). I have break through vicodin in case that doesn't work but I also use the heating pad quite a bit. It's my first go-to before I take a break through pill. It usually cuts the pain enough to function, sometimes not :-( but my heating pad travels with me everywhere, just like my ergo pillow.

They are absolutely cutting Hydrocodne and any opiates out her in BC for anything except cancer. even tramadol .switching people over to marijauana which I don't find works.problem is we have a fentanyl crisis here in canad 777 deaths this year alone.I have never taken moore than prescribed for me .I haven't had oxycodone for about 4 year but have been on tridual 9 time release tramadol) and breakthrough tramadol 50s a very low dose now my pain guy wants me off that onto marijauan which I know doesn't work for me and I hate being stone even with cannibidiol I hate the body feeling.i think docs prescribing all the pills big pharma pushes is a huge problem and there must be alternatives buut when alternatives don't work I don't think they should pill youfoff what does work causing anxiety but obviously the dr.s don't fully know what they are doing with chronic pain and neither does big pharma.
