I Have Started On Targin 1 Week Ago As Tramadol Wasnt Working For Me Anymore. My Main Question Is When Does The Tiredness Lift?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Galway, IE

My legs feel weak and shaky. I normally can manage to walk my dog, in morning, but since starting Targin, I feel wiped out and low energy. It is helping pain a little, but I'm just wiped out all the time. When or if will I get my energy back?

I haven't taken targin but I have to say that I have yet to experience a day without feeling totally wiped out at some stage sorry I can't be more helpful but I've suffered from extreme tiredness since way before I was diagnosed, I hope the targin work for you I'd be interested to hear how they work compared to tramadol as I've been on so many different pills since 2004 and tramadol are the only ones that have helped at all even though they only dull the pain it would be great to hear if there's something out there that might help more 💞

Thanks for your reply. I was told that Naloxene is used to stop any constipation without affecting the pain relief. I find Targin is suiting me as pain relief is more constant. I found that Tramadol gave me good burst of energy but faded lot quicker. Targin does not seem to give me any emotional/energy lift , but seems to keep me stable(pain wise).

Your body will eventually get accustomed to the oxycodone in this medication and you will become less sleepy, some people like the MScontin better because once the body is dependent the more steady state in the long-acting formulation keeps those symptoms of withdrawal away better. However, for some reason, your doc has given you a preparation with naloxone in it so that you cannot take other opiates above what he or she has ordered without them being reversed by the naloxone, or is this a tricky way of getting a low dose of naloxone in? I don't know the intent, but the MSContin would not be equivalent.
