What Is A Short Acting Pain Meds Besides Norco And Perks?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm on methadone 10 mg for long acting pain but I need something for in between now I take perks it was Norco for 5 years. They have never really helped. And I'm beyond aggravated with this. Why take it if it doesn't work? Well I'm not fond of withdrawals lol and to be honest I take it in hopes it just works.

I've tried the patches and the issue with them is I think I was on 25 mg and they weren't enough meaning without the methadone I started to feel the need to change them more then the allowed time. The methadone helps me not wake up and feel like ass lol or just feel so bad because I haven't had opiods in 8 hours and methadone has really saved me from that.

I've been on Duragesic patchs 100mcg and Norco. The generic Norco doesn't do much for pain. I did discover that acupuncture made all the difference in the world. I could feel my medication, my pain was less, I felt more relaxed after each treatment. The best part was I slept better.

So the methadone and percs isn't working ? I agree ! Why change things if they are working ! Have you thought about taking long acting opiate pain patches like fentanyl ? That's what I take..
