What can you do for a tailbone that has arthritis? I've got cortisone shots but I need them every month and they won't give them that often. The pain when I sit and then try to stand is unbearable.

For me I would not do this. I think it too risky and not enough long term relief.

I’m at my wits end. Having tried literally everything there is and I’m now going to enquire with a neurosurgeon about this radio frequency treatment.
Has anyone with peripheral neuropathy tried this?
Would you recommend it?

Does Anyone Here Have A Spinal Fusion, Specifically Lower Back (L5S1)? What/how Much Are You Able To Do Physically?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Longs, SC

I know what the dr tells me to do, and honestly, a lot of that ends up hurting me. But some stuff I’m not supposed to do is super easy for me. I want to do more and I want to do as much as possible. But I don’t want/need my activity to make me miserable for the following days. I want to get back to weight lifting. I want to get back to being able to stand/walk for longer times. Anybody have any advice on how to get there? Like I said before, I know what the drs say, but those are… read more

Has Anyone Hac A Nerve Block Done For Back Pain?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
High Point, NC

My pain doc wants me to try a nerve block on my back. I'm willing to try anything at this point. If you've had it done, is it painful? Does it hurt? I have DDD, stenosis, and L-4 and L-5 are herniated. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

You need to find a specialist who knows how to do it and has a CT or at least an ultrasound available. It can help you to patch up the pain for 1 - 3 months depending on the stage of your herniated… read more

Is It Crazy To Have An Ablation Procedure For Male Chronic Pelvic Pain?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Abiquiu, NM

I've had chronic pelvic pain for going on 20 years now, and it is fairly well controlled (with the usual problems) with pain medication. But my pain management doctor keeps pressuring me to see a spinal pain specialist to inquire about her doing a nerve ablation (nerve-killing) procedure for the pain. I feel very iffy about this. I've heard that the pain will resume in 6 months even with the procedure, and that I would need to have this done every six months anyhow, and there could be all kinds… read more

RF Ablation Relief Duration

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Melbourne, FL

So I have had Ablation two times so far, 4 nerves each time. I have got about 8 months relief, but I always still have pain, they just allow me to walk somewhat normal but only for short distances
My question to those who have had Ablations of 3 or more times :
Does it last longer each time and possibly even permanent relief to a certain point.
( this new Dr. Says it happens after several times)

When my nerves have conductivity again, it stops me in my tracks, and need a shot, and… read more
