A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Los Angeles, CA

I have been feeling weird head sensations. Pulling, burning, itching, tingling. Sometimes it feels like a tight band is around my head. I neurologist determined that it was nerve pain and prescribed carbamazepine. I have been taking this medication for about 2 and a half weeks. I don't feel any improvement. Is there any information about my symptoms?

I have never been on pain meds or any anti inflammatory meds. I've had early onset of arthritis basically everywhere in my body. I'm 38 but I've had arthritis since I was a teenage. My back is shot. In the last couple of years my liver has been enlarging and my kidneys aren't in tip top shape. I have GI Bleeding as well. My body hurts every single day and I just continue to push forward. However it's taking it's toll on me. I need to find something I can take that will not hurt my kidneys and… read more

Allergic To Steroids????

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Newburgh, NY

What do you do if you are allergic to steroids? The last time I had a steroid shot, I turned all red and got very itchy. I tried to take prednisone and it made it worse. Since then, I cannot take any steroids at all. Some of my doctors can't believe I'm allergic, but I get this reaction every time I try to use them. I even had a reaction to an asthma inhaler that had a steroid in it. HELP??? What do I do for my back pain, my bursitis, etc.

i am allergic to certain medications.when i was younger i could take anything but now i have to be careful.

How Does Genetic Testing Fit Into A Chronic Pain Treatment Plan?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Blue Springs, MO

She used the Genomind system. The results focus mostly on efficacy: how well a particular med might work with my brain and less on predictable side effects. Along with assessing a wide range of psych meds the profile also evaluated analgesics. Finally, I have confirmation that… read more

Swollen Foot

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Louisville, KY

Swollen Foot...

I have been fighting various symptoms in my left leg for over 2 years. First it was muscle spasms in left thigh which became one giant charley horse. Then came lightening bolts in knee and an electric drill in calf. Entire leg, including foot, now feels tight with pins & needles sensation. A week ago I woke to my left foot being badly swollen.

Three months after surgery at L2/3 last year, I was told that level needed a fusion. L3/4 had been fused in 2015. L4/5 has been… read more
