Reduce Cost Massage/Acupuncture

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Ventura, CA

My insurance won't cover any type of alternative pain relief treatments like acupuncture. I have tried it two times and it helped better than any medicine or other treatments I have ever tried, but had to pay completely out of pocket and it's no way near cheap. My family already has to care for my paralyzed mother and we can't afford any extra spending. Our insurance barely covers any of my families medical expenses, but we make "too much" money to receive any type of aid. Is there any other way… read more

You look young, but if you are 65 or over you can get help through My Aged Care, you can find it on google, that's where I go and I pay very much less than I was paying for treatment and they are all… read more

On Going Flare Ups, Constant Pain

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
New Castle, IN

How do you cope with on going flare ups that seem to have no relief in sight? Is there any tricks you have learned to help find relief even if it's only for a little while? I feel desperate at times and willing to try almost anything just for the pain to ease up. Thanks in advance for any thoughts and ideas💜

Rest, ice or heat depending on cause or area of pain. I had to start taking Mobic (prescription NSAID) daily to keep inflammation from creeping up on me. Diet is HUGE!!! Decrease sugar and dairy… read more

How Do You Deal With People Staring At You And Giving You Advice All The Time?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Johannesburg, ZA

I am 21 years old and I have been suffering from chronic back pain for the past four years. I has gotten worse these past 4 months and it's started affecting my legs as well so I use a walking stick to get around whenever I need to leave the house. I have noticed that whenever i walk into a room people would literally stop whatever they're doing and they'd just stare at me. The staring gets even worse when children start pointing at me. This has really affected my self esteem in a great way and… read more

Does Anyone Have Pain, Numbness/tingling In Hands From Cervical Radiculopathy?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Arcadia, FL

...herniated discs in neck/lumbar area. ..left arm, shoulder, sometimes chest very painful, off the scale, pain meds do not help at prescribed doses. Now, my right hand is starting to get tingly. I've been droping things. One neurosurgeon wants to operate, but I don't trust him, due to his own age-shakiness and diff reading MRI. Another neuro guy wants another newer MRI, ok no prob with that, BUT, it can only be done at an office in his building. I question the $ relationship in that. My pain… read more

Oramorph Does It Work For Back Pain ?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Leven, UK

Hi Ive just made the BIG mistake of insisting on going to what we have in Scotland called a Pain Management clinic
On my first visit I was basically made to feel like a fake and in less pain than I actually am . I will not go into that side of it too much .
My question to those with back pain and perhaps trapped sciatic nerves |> Do you or have you used the likes of a Morphine based Drug to help with said Back pain and did it work for you .

This "Doctor" informed me that I am mistaken… read more

What Is A Short Acting Pain Meds Besides Norco And Perks?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Ocala, FL

I'm on methadone 10 mg for long acting pain but I need something for in between now I take perks it was Norco for 5 years. They have never really helped. And I'm beyond aggravated with this. Why take it if it doesn't work? Well I'm not fond of withdrawals lol and to be honest I take it in hopes it just works.

A MyChronicPainTeam Member

I've been on Duragesic patchs 100mcg and Norco. The generic Norco doesn't do much for pain. I did discover that acupuncture made all the difference in the world. I could feel my medication, my pain… read more

Does Anyone Have Either Or Both Of These Diagnosis And If So Do You Ever Get More Than 40-50% Pain Relief And If So What Do You Take?!?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Chicago, IN

I've had Stellite Ganglion Blocks, Lidocaine Patches, Fentanyl, Methadone, Norco, Morphine, Cymbalta, Lyrica, Cortisone, Valium, Zanaflex, Protonix, Wellbutrin and the one thing that worked but no one will pay for because it's $1100.00 for a 30 day supply is Exalgo. Not all at once but a lot at a time. HELP!!! I hurt so bad!!!! 😡

A MyChronicPainTeam Member

I have an scs and hate it. I am only on Zoloft (due to not working so no insurance or money can't see doc regularly) and my scs is not working. Hasn't worked ever. I'm in pain 5-10/10 everyday. If… read more
