I would have your wife slowly wean off the opioids prior to pregnancy and try CBD products. Meditation is helpful as I have used it successfully while my opioids have been reduced due to the current climate. Best wishes to you both
Surrogate is definitely a no go. To expensive. We would be looking at over €60k if not more to go down the surrogate route .
I have actually my Dr kept me on my pain meds throughout my pregnancy but my baby was FULL TERM BUT WAS UNDERWEIGHT n they kept her in the nicu for 2weeks n I could go spend time w her whenever I wanted now she's home n a perfect weight. Good luck with your pregnancy and God bless the baby
It is definetly not recommended to get pregnant on opioids. The babies are born addicted & go through withdrawls that can be life threatening. Its called NAS, neonatal abstinence syndrome & is heartbreaking to watch them go through this. Some states its a crime & CPS gets involved & can remove baby from you. Its also dangerous to get pregnant & try to quit b/c it can cause miscarriage, stillbirth or preterm delivery. Where i live they start pregnant patients on methadone as soon as they find out pregnant if they are dependent on opioids. The best advice would be talking to ob/gyn & Dr who manages your pain Rx before getting pregnant to work out a plan.
